during our landscaping project i noticed Elizabeth Reaney posting to her Instagram story photos of other artists’ works and some of them looked really impressive, i thought they would look amazing in a photography publication.
i sent her a message “Ok but thinking about it?? It could be pretty sweet, like send out a message to see who wants to be apart of it and have like a £3 donation to be featured in this publication, that would help cover printing costs, if you end up getting to many people apply you shortlist some, say 20 people and give them each a double page spread, maybe a small bit of text?? But that’s like £60?? You could print quite a few books when we go back, give the people who paid free copies and sell the rest at like £5?? Idk you’d have to check numbers but I think it could work pretty well, print it on nice official paper, would be so nice” . . .
Elizabeth seemed excited about this and gave me the good reception i was looking for to continue you this idea, she suggested making it into a uni society which we could have done through the BathSpa website, however, i admittedly i didn’t know how this would be as i probably only saw a few people working on it to help a handful of artists
ALC – “Dude making a photography magazine could be super cool?? I might consider it?? It’d be a good way to network, and it do it outside of uni work ??” . . . “We could organise everything and print it when we’re eventually allowed to go back to campus”
this was the beginning into this project outside of uni
