thinking about our publication in the world of industry i thought about copy right infringement and consent from the artists as well as the muses, initially i emailed Kellie for clarity on the subject, as she taught us our module on copy rights, however, without a response i decided to dig myself and came across this article
which indicated that it would be a legal requirement for our artists to consent to us using their images and their muse’s also to consent to having their images used in a publication that was seeking to make a profit off of their likeness as a firm of advertising, this doubled for muses who were under 18 and since they could not sign themselves we would require a signature from a parental figure to confirm that they would be allowed to appear in our publication.
to this i emailed outed out a form and directions on how to fill out the form
this is my version of the form i uploaded to the google docs for people to view as an example for them to then download and fill out the blank version, many people emailed back quite quickly and was good to see a positive response, this is something i should of done from the start and something im very glad i looked into before publishing in October.
a few people had issues, and i sent out reminder emails for to people emphasis that we cant use the artist’s work without these form and it would be unlawful
